Heat Metal's disadvantage not working properly.

Targets get the condition, but get rid of it in the beginning of their turn without dropping their weapon/armour. I tried it with the Paladin of Tyr and that guy simply didn't care about it.

Has anyone had this issue? Don't know if I am missing something.

Heya I have the exact same problem, also on the Paladin of Tyr. Heat metal works fine the first time, but it can be picked up again immediately after. And if I try to use the concentration ability to reapply the damage, it tries to go into melee range to do it for some reason, and says no it can't. The turn after that again though, it did let me reapply heat metal, and from range. Not sure why.

It seems the disadvantage is falling off at the beginning of the victim's turn, which means the spell is far less useful than it is intended.
