Getting Black Screen randomnly HELP

Somehow the game is deactivating my graphic drivers I guess... I'm getting Black Screens but the audio still on. The only solution is to restart my PC but I don't think that's good for my computer.
When will this be fixed?

You can Alt+F4 out of the game. I have the same issue.

Happened with friends I was playing with, if you wait for say 10/20 seconds it should fix itself providing you can still hear the audio in the background.

Its a seperate issue. The black screen is still with the game running. The issue he has (as do I and many others) actually somehow deactivateds your GPU thus making NOT JUST THE APP but the actual monitors lose connection.

I'm having the same issue. Been trying to troubleshoot for days but can't figure out anything to fix this. Subscribing in case anyone has a solution, workaround, or confirmation of the source of the problem.

I'm having the same issue as well. I've tried waiting for minutes since I can hear the audio in the background but to no avail. I know I have older hardware but it still fits the requirements:

i7 7700k
RTX 3070
32gb ram

Hoping someone can provide a solution to this issue.

I have a tentative workaround. It worked for about 8 hours last night with no black screens. I changed from Borderless to Fullscreen (and lowered my frame cap from 164 to 90, which I doubt mattered). It was the longest I've been able to play with no black screens.

After that session, I played for maybe an hour on Borderless and got a black screen again.

I'll test it more today, but hopefully Fullscreen fixes the issue. Larian also shipped a patch today that included something about fixing a refresh rate bug for non-fullscreen players. Not sure if that's related, but there's a small possibility that fixes the problem as well. Fingers crossed.

Edit: Just got another black screen post-patch on Borderless mode. Going back to Fullscreen for now.

Edit 2: Never mind, just got 2 forced PC restarts within a few minutes of each other (both on Fullscreen). Guess I was just getting lucky earlier.

In my case it was one of the pins connecting GPU to PSU came loose(the small one with two connections). Maybe check that.

I've had two evenings with no problems so far. I disabled V-sync (and G-sync for my monitor) and lowered graphics to Medium. Not sure if it's luck or if the problem is actually fixed, but it might be worth trying that.

I have an RTX 3070 so I really shouldn't have to gimp my settings like this but I'll take stability over quality for now. I'll post an edit to this post if I get any more black screens with my current settings.

i had this issue some time ago. blackscreen, CTD and complete restart when gaming. turns out its a bad PSU. replaced it to EVGA gold 750w nova something. suddenly everything is stable.

it also could easily be a overheating GPU.

or simply just update the drivers.

are you running it through vulkan or DX11?

If you're asking me, I've tried both and it didn't change much either way. I'm currently using DX11. Played for several more hours tonight with no issues. If I don't get any more black screens tomorrow, I'll probably start tinkering with the settings again to see if I can narrow down what works and what's irrelevant.

been having the same issue here, playing BG3 seems to randomly cause my whole pc to freeze and go black or force a restart causing a DWM crash with a 0xe0464645 exception code. so far only have this happen with BG3, other games so far seem fine.
