Missing Volo after rescue

Hey anyone had an issue where after rescuing him he wouldn't return back to camp despite telling him so? After I rescued him I killed the 3 True souls, rescued Halsin, and return back to Druid Gtove just to have a party without him. After many attempts to long rest he hasn't shown up at all.

It depends also on how you rescue him. There are at least 2 ways that if you are not careful he will die. In one he will attack you, and the last one is a glitch where he just stands in the cage where he was taken to instead of drinking his invisibility potion and escaping. The last is where you purchase him from the goblin for gold.

I did rescue him and he used the invisible potion and escape.

Having the same problem. Tried to fast travel to camp from the goblin camp and inside as some have suggested. Hope they will address this in a patch soon. I would recommend sending a ticket to Larian via their website about this.

I have the same problem. I have killed the goblins, rescued Volo, he drank potion and I have now entry in journal "Return to camp" but he is not there.

Didnt have an issues with Volo but I did with Halsin

I keep rescuing him. Only for him to leave camp all indignant because he doesn't like my dad or something.

He went to my camp when I rescued him from the goblins. He then disappeared a couple of hours of play time after. No idea why.

same problem =( , my quest log is stuck on return to camp for his quest, hes not there after about 4 long rests and not there during the party. he drank the invisi pot after i freed him from the cage and ran off into the night. i think we are just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ =(

someone suggest taking a long rest before opening cage. I restarted character.

The cutscenes in game override one another, of you got a cutscene at camp on your next long rest then congrats you'll never get Volo

Pretty sure that's my case, I went to the camp after I saved the tieflings and Volo wasn't there.

I highly suggest to get to goblin camp location and enter your camp through waypoint selection. I was missing Volo in regular location too, but after I entered camp in this site, he way waiting there for me and it was our first interaction whatsoever.

I walked into the camp and attacked Gribbo as she was about to escort him after schooling Volo with bard checks. That definitely seemed to have broken it, so I'd recommend letting her escort him to the cage before you kill everyone. (if you're going that route)
