Ability to talk to animals and have an animal companion

Hi there!
I just got the game and before getting into it, I'd love to know which classes can have an animal companion and hold the ability to talk to animals. Is it only the gnome and the ranger?

Games like Pathfinder offer an animal companion to many classes/ builds, so I rather ask.

You can become farmer to talk to cows, or any other animal, turkeys dogs you name it

Bards, Druids can have talk to animal spells
but there is potion too

You don't need to spec as a ranger or druid to talk with animals, you often find animal speaking potions (or you can buy them) that last until you do a long rest again.

Also there are several items (amulets etc.) that also allow you to speak with animals.

For the animal companions also, you can get some like a dog and owlbear without being a hippie class.

Beastmaster ranger is the only one that gets a dedicated animal companion. I don't know how involved it is compared to Pathfinder in terms of choices and leveling. Some other classes can get the Find Familiar spell or cast temporary summons but they're not the same.
