There was the same weird puritan outrage over Mass Effect's incredibly bland romance scenes too.
Seems like there are always some prudey weirdos out there who get upset when they see an uncovered ankle in a video game.
But it is not there in order to make the game a pornographic game. I would advocate that future games also implement an option to make things more explicit, just as I advocate anybody who wants their avatar to e.g. have a vagina with a male body, to have this option if they like to play the game that way.
However, for the major games explicit sexual acts should be optional and with respect to the effort it takes to implement it. But if it is part of a "niche" game that does previously communicate what it is made for it is of course OK just to target that specific audience.
There should be respect to anybody to play a game the way they want - and given the density of sexual mods for games in the internet and of course this forum thread, it is not deniable that for some people the game would be better if it was more sexual.
But as I already wrote, if society matures some more years that might come. Today we might not have a year when society would accept it.
Times sure have changed.
It's amazing in how many ways the game manages to disappoint, some more embarrasing than others.
