Is there some trick to use the rogue's sneak attack with a non-finesse weapon?
Or is there a 2-handed finesse weapon I can get?
For a rogue champion hybrid, would like to sneak and use a claymore or great axe.
Thanks.

I think the only requirement is that you have advantage on the enemy. So, knock them prone?

I dont get it, the attack requires a finesse weapon, not an advandage? The attack isnt available when wielding a claymore, but you mean I could use it with the claymore if the enemy is kocked down?

you must use a finesse weapon and have either Advantage or an Ally within melee range of the enemy to do a sneak attack Finesse weapons are Daggers, Rapiers, Scimitars and Shortswords none of which you can two-hand sorry

Astarion doesn't have proficiency with claymores does he? If not, wouldn't that be a built in disadvantage? Which would then cancel out the advantage needed for sneak attack?

correct but "claymores" arent finese weapons so he cant sneak attack with them anyways

I believe if you read the tooltips, sneak attacks are only available for certain kind of weapons, which is finesse. So no, you can't sneak attack with a 50 pound boulder, claymore, halberd or longsword.

A real medieval longsword (non ceremonial, made for combat) weights around 3 pound (~1.5kg)

But ok :(
