This is not BG3
It's a generic RPG, that does not carry the legacy of Baldur's Gate. It's a great game, but it's not BG.

LMAO "desecrating"
Lizzo played a flute, which is meant to be played... as a flute... she is a classically trained musician that has been playing the flute since she was like 10 years old.
Quit acting like you gave a ♥♥♥♥ about some dumbass FLUTE before that happened, lol.

Same with BG3, you just whine about some imagined loss, when in fact this is one of the greatest RPGs of the decade.
You have failed so far to demonstrate what exactly it is that was lost from the "good ol days" of BG1 & 2. Instead you reply with some vague notion of how things are different and that's bad, without pointing to anything concrete.
Average Lizzo enjoyer

Nah bro I had to google it because I had no idea who that was until you brought it up. Because normal people don't get triggered by imagined moral panics that don't exist.

Thanks for proving my point. You have nothing to say.

no surprise, it's made by a portion of the original team, but if i have to be honest, i personally prefer the bg3 setting, at the beginning it didn't convince me but now if i have to go back i prefer the "larian" style.
When did Bioware devs move to Obsidian? Cos Black Isle weren't the developers of BG 1&2, it was Icewind Dale they developed.

There's nothing to add. You've already showed yourself as what you are by defending such a clear desecration of a historical artifact. You have zero respect for legacy.

Except that the concurent player numbers and review scores for this game clearly illustrate you incorrect you are in your analogy. You are just a salty boi for some reason, but the gamer community in general is welcoming this game with open arms.

True, shame Po2 was step back from first game imo.

poe2 could never be as good as poe1, unfortunately. they raised the stakes way too high way too fast, once you discover the gods are not real and you get a seat at the table with them you can't really escalate. where is your story going to go outside of the absurd? and the absurd is hit-or-miss even with outstanding talent. i love the setting, and i am looking forward to avowed, but it has to be incredibly disconnected from the poe series imo.

and personally, i am really glad to hear avowed is taking place in the living lands

Yea, clearly she is providing people more things of value than you I guess. ^^

I don’t get how people don’t get why a lot of people are so on edge about this game it’s not a true successor to Baldurs gate. It literally shares NOTHING with the first 4 games other than the name. Let’s get real here this is D&D the game and nothing more. Which I mean cool they deserve a game but they also alienated a decent amount of players who wanted a true sequel.

They think it will lessen their own enjoyment of the game if they admit to themselves that this game has zero relation to BG 1 & 2 and only a fleeting accuracy to Forgotten Realms as a whole. In other words, they've forgotten about taking their daily dose of Prozac.

...
You know that BG1 & 2 are still playable?...
You can still buy them and pay them right?...

They where not erased from existance when BG3 launched.

And ironicly contrary to an "Historical artifact" like you say, ANYONE can buy it and play it...

Its not encased behind a 10cm bulletproof glass, unreachable to the masses...

SO i have no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clue what the hell you're talking about...

How do you determine whether or not it is a "great game" from popularity? Do you apply the same logic to McDonald's burgers?

Thats a great fast food resturant, look at how they have places all over the world. ;)
The focus of that company is however not culinary mastery and thats I guess why there are no McDonalds with michelin stars.

A more apt analogy for what is a good video game would be what makes a good movie. If huge amounts of peole are willing to pay to see a movie and the numbers of people who go watch it just keep going up and up, then yes you can call that a great movie, even if you personally dont like it.

Great example illustrating how you're completely wrong. Star Wars episode 7 broke several box office records and became the highest-grossing film in the US and Canada. But it is universally panned as an awful movie and a disgrace to the SW franchise.
