Can't talk to balthazar

anyone else getting a bug in Act 2 where balthazar starts talking to you and then just stops. Like he says the line "finally we can talk face to face" and then the cutscene ends and I cannot initiate a conversation with him again.

Also playing Dark Urge and having the same issue. The workaround of using someone else also worked for me, but there was also likely unique dialogue options for a Durge Tav, so I'm kinda bummed about it. Hopefully Larian is aware and it'll be fixed soon.

It's a glitch unique to a dark urge pc. You can switch to any of your companions then talk to him and it'll work.

The point is that Dark Urge clearly gets a different line of dialogue, using a different party member will progress, yes, but not trigger any Dark Urge conversation. Deeply upsetting :(

I'm getting stuck in the very first conversation with him and I'm not playing a Dark Urge character. Doesn't matter which party member speaks with him; I select the "History" option and it just freezes. Later on it freezes on the "Rogue" option. I'm running of out options to choose and I can't proceed. I tried selecting other members and they break away from the conversation, but the one who initiated it is frozen in place. I even went to Camp to see if that would "reset" the conversation, but the one who spoke to Balthazar didn't come over.

EDIT: It seems like any conversation option that has a tag on it will cause the freeze. Regular conversation options do not.

I just ran into this too. Really bummed 'cause I've been trying to see all the Dark Urge dialogue. Haven't found any fix for it (aside from using a different character to skip dark urge dialogue), so hopefully Larian patches it up soon.

Happened to me too, playing dark urge. I left the immidiate area so no one in his gang could see me and used Mask of the Shapeshifter to disguise myself. Then I could talk to him. So, using a companion for the talk is not needed. Not sure what Dark Urge specific conversation options other are talking about though, did not see any. (maybe disguise self removed them?)

Just kill him, he gets much more powerful in the Shadowfell, dont dawdle smacking him.

I never speak to Balthazar. I just sneak behind him and blow his brains out.

Significantly frustrating for me. Playing a solo dark urge, trying to exhaust all evil options. But if I kill Balthazar I’m automatically an enemy to moonrise. (I don’t want to be.) No one has found a work around without having another party member? I killed the origin characters.

I had that happen, cross platform bug.

Just murked him anyway, which I was planning on doing.
