How do i save minsc?

Got to the seweres, killed the dopples and found the not about the hamster, but cant do anything but kill minsc, please help. I want to save minsc.

On the bottom of the screen is tab named Passives, inside you can find option to toggle non lethal attacks. Use it to knock him out. Idk if you need jaheira in your party or not i had her when i did this quest.

Did you try having Boo go for the eyes?

Open the spellbook for one of your character and go to common. There you will find a toggleable passive that lets you deal non-lethal damage with your weapon. So bring his health down with everything you got and deal the final blow with a basic attack(be sure you have the passive active). Good luck!

I think you need to have Jaheira in your party. After knocking him out, i'm just having to kill him due to raging.

I have the same issue, and Knock out does not work. Any suggestion?

Omg what they said. It must be a MELEE attack no special ability and you have to "kill" him with the MELEE damage not any on hit proc. i unequipped my weapon and beat him down while i used dominate mind

So this was why we needed Minsc back from BG2 right just to kill him because the game didn't tell you not to? This seems like some crapy game design.

Non-lethal toggled on and Jaheira using only her fist Minsc still dies and she leaves permanently. This is now the 2nd progression blocking bug I have found in act 3.

Same here, and the log says

"Minsc received Condition: Knocked Out." (yaay)
"Shadowheart lost Condition: Hunter's Mark Quarry."
"Minsc succumbed to death." (WHAT?!)

... tried to get it to work for an hour with different ideas, at this point i just wish i could just let him go, but cannot as to what happen if you do

Weird, got Minsc today.. and he does not follow in group mode.. I have to sellect him and then move the group. Anyone else with the same problem?

i got the same problem no idea whats causing it. But if you control Minsc the others follow him without isue.

ive struggled a lot with this also. reloaded quick save almost 30 times, and was bashing at minsc with bare hands but he still died. Turns out fists are also lethal weapon and only method to knock him out is using special, move that specyficaly have non-lethal in description. Problem is that not all clases have that atack, and if you got some perks from tadpoles that cause aditional dmg, then you will also kill him even when using non- lethal move. Safest thing with doing this is to lower his hp to 10 or below, then do quick save and try to knock him with that non lethal move, and reload if you miss or it doesnt knock him out,

I'm currently struggling with this encounter. I figured out you need to do the Non-lethal toggle, but the first time I knocked him out, the screen went black and the cutscene didn't play, and then I was stuck in combat with a 1 HP Minsc and couldn't do anything but knock him out again, in this case it counted as him dying and Jaheira got mad and left the party. 2nd time the Cutscene didn't trigger at all and Jaheira left without any cutscene. Third time, cutscene did play, but when I came out of it, the attack that triggered the cutscene finished, and now a non-enemy Minsc is knocked out on the floor and I can't do anything to fix it.

yeah same, non-lethal on, no weapon, just punch, screen goes to black, Jaheira screams do not kill him, and after few seconds screen is back on and we are still in the middle of fight with Minsc with 1 health. if I punch him again he dies no matter what and Jaheira's goodbye cutsceen starts. I even went to camp, rest the night and when going back we were immidiately in the fight with Minsc with 1 health (tried all my party members, same results, multiple re-do, all same) at this point it sucks since it is not my decision, but I am loosing companion for this (well technically 2)
