I'm really sorry that we're not living in the 18th century anymore mate ;-)
cant change em, but at least they make it obvious by calling everything woke.
in the end it doesn't hurt the game, so non issue if they dislike it or not.
Which there is (a lot of)? Or what is your point?
if you don't like an npc, you can kill them or ignore them. That's not being forced upon you, that's giving you options to either not engage or ignore it.
True and it was enjoyable for a while watching them getting confronted with diversity just a little but it's kinda sad that this woke-debate bs keeps new players from asking their important questions here and getting help with the basics.
lets things go unchecked for extended periods.
Right? I feel like it should even be gratifying for them to kill that character if they really hate them so much.
But it's not that, y'know. That's not what they're concerned about. They're concerned about other people having a nice time and feeling represented when they feel we don't deserve to.
Stop looking for reasons to be upset. Larian has always made the party diverse, in Divinity 2 we had a skeleton, pompous lizard, demon possessed singer, flesh eating elf assassin. Your average D&D party has always looked like a travelling circus, so I have no clue wtf people are complaining about.
It must be really hard, yes. Imagine you get presented with an amazing movie/game/friendship in rl or whatever and can't enjoy it because you limit yourself to narrow-minded ideas.
And yes, it WOULD feel sad if they weren't so annoyingly loud and selb-absorbed.
