Druid won't join the Group?

So, I just finished the questline with the druids and Halsin offered to join my group, so far so good. He's is in my camp, just standing around but I can't invite him into my active party, i removed one member so its only 3 people now but he still won't join, theres simply no option to ask him. If I ask Wyll which I removed to make room for Halsin, he will come back immediately.

Is this a bug or is Halsin like just a camp character like the scribe and the other dude?

Halsin is disappointingly just a camp character I don't know what his purpose is there, maybe because he doesn't have an origin story you can't use him in your party?

noooooooo, i was so happy when he offered to join, especially since I had him as a temporary character while destroying the goblins, he was pretty OP but thats probably the reason why he can't join the party dammit

Yeah I think to get a druid in your party you have to hire a merc that's a druid or have one of your origin characters be respecced to a druid

I think he'll only join you AFTER you're all going to THAT other place together.

he does join, just latter than you would first think based on the conversation, its not until you start dealing with the shadow corruption that he becomes a party member. There is a reason he is level 5.

Paladin and Druid are missing from the line up of origin characters so you'll have to respec someone to access the abilities if you're not playing as one. Personally when I play Karlac i'm going to make her into a Paladin with fiery smite since i'm playing a custom barbarian and don't want to play the same class twice.

Where in the goblin camp is Halsin?

Halsin has a strange problem. After leaving the place to rest, he seems to disappear. I've been googling this problem and people have been having this problem with Halsin since 2021. Eventually, I just tried continuing the dungeon without him, and after killing the 3rd boss, I found Halsin again around where I was when I started the long rest. Of course, Halsin wasn't there before, but something made him appear again. It could have been reloading the save or doing a short rest after the first long rest, but idk.

a bit latter than that, its about 1/2 way through act 2 though you can get it a little sooner if you go to the right place. This video has more info while being mostly spoiler free
