Items randomly disappear from inventory

Items will randomly disappear from your inventory and equipment:

The other 2 items are still registered (backpack showing 5 items and the weight includes the 2 missing items), but they are not there.
I have restarted multiple runs because my gear just vanished randomly.

Also it is possible that someone just stole your items in game.

Btw in image posted there I can see scroll bar indicates that there are more slots down there, so why no scroll or sort bag ?

I dont think the items are gone, but when you give (with gamepad) someone an item, when you sort your inventory between party members, the items you gave someone (can?) disappear. They are shown again when you close and again open the inventory screen. Its a bug (with gamepad at least, dont know with mouse)

This is a bug that I've had the unfortunate pleasure of finding today. Everything I pick up just vanishes, it's not in mine or my companions' inventories, it's not in any of my packs or the camp chest. I've tried having party members pick stuff up, but the same thing happens. Have reloaded old saves and verified game files but nothing seems to work. I'm going to start a new game to see but I hope that's not the only solution for this bug. This started for me in the arcane tower in the underdark.

I've items that disappeared like the amulet that permit to speak with animals or boots that give a teleport.
Even in my old saves, they don't appear anymore.
Maybe is it because of an update, i don't know, but it's pretty frustrating ^^;

Yup just happened to me the bag you get with the dlc disappeared and I had been putting all my potions and special arrows and throwables so yeah fml.

Happened to me with a green item on my first release save Started again, and right now I have no Auntie's XXXX hair. It's granted by the event that I did several hours ago. I only sold items to one NPC on the Groove to keep in check, and there isn't there, nor in any of my character inventories or chest.

Update: I saved every time on a new slot, and I could go to the save that I just did after killing that boss. No item on my inventory lol. But I remember it on my first items during the whole run.

This is a really bad bug, if a quest item goes missing or any companion item goes missing then the game is messed up, as the data is definitely written to disk (Unless that data for that item got corrupted and game had to scrub it).

If the artifact goes missing from your inventory you effectively bricked your game...

Volo Disappeared from the game after his eye surgery from my camp.. So its not just items disappearing but people. Its probably the Dark urge bug eating people and items

I had mh disappearing on Astarion, 0 clue why. All I remember before that I was struggling with adding torch to his torch slot and it unequip mh sometimes if you do it manually, but I couldn't see it anywhere in the inventory. Never using this useless torch crap again >_<

Volo HAS to disappear after the eye surgery, and it's not from the game, it's just from your camp.

I just cleared Arcane Tower today and was checking gears before moving to Act 2. I had the ring that gives +3 meters to movement, saw it yesterday in my inventory. But I couldn't find it anywhere today.

I have solved this but it's a little tricky because you need to remember what went missing. In my case, it was BROKEN MACHINERY. In the inventory there is a search option. If you type the item you are missing, it will show up in the search results. Now move the item from one slot to the other and it will reappear in the inventory.

I lost a blue weapon because Shadowheart was disarmed by an enemy and I didn't notice until well after crossing the point of no return leaving the Shadowlands. Now I check after each fight to be sure no weapons are lying on the ground from being disarmed...

OMG! Thanks!! Had no idea there was a search option for inventory. I have a love/hate feeling about the inventory management in this game. I love being able to click on a weapon or armor slot and bringing up *all* the items being carried by party members (including those that are equipped) that could go in that slot. But I wish the sorting options included things like armor, weapons, consumables, quest items, etc. rather than just latest, weight, type...
