Cannot Cast any spells Gale

I have Gale in my party and randomly he has just decided he cant cast spells anymore after a battle. I have tried long rest, replenishing spell slot ability, getting rid of all things i have equipped but the basic staff incase something was blocking the ability to use, dismissing and bringing him back into the party and nothing is working all other characters can cast their spells but his are greyed out. Is anyone having this issue or know how to fix this? i literally have to use a different character in my party now because he cant do anything,

Are his hands full? At least in real DnD you can't cast somatic spells with your hands full.
Or maybe his spell focus/spellbook got removed from inventory
These are guesses based on actual DnD tho, I haven't used him yet in game to know if they really apply

Sounds like you gave him some armor to wear.

As a spellcaster that will disable spell casting.

Look at his character sheet if he has some condition. Gale has a special preexisting condition but he should tell you what it is.

Thanks Guys, I thought i took all armour and everything off but turns out i had a helmet on which prevented use of magic. taking it off fixed this.
