Act 3 - Can't enter Temple of Bhaal

Title. The kid i effectively adopted as soon as i entered act 3 got kidnapped by Orin, no note or anything, just got the quest popup "Someone from your group has been kidnapped, find the lash of bhall and find them" but i have absolutely ZERO idea where to go to find it.

I've mapped out the entire sewers, scrounged the two main areas of BG, and i can't find anything.

Edit and solution for everything still stuck on this part:

You must pursue the temple murder and talk to the flying elephant about bhaalist murders in the city, it'll lead you towards the solution.

if you can,

1. go into the sewers right by basilisk gate
2. Destroy the wall
3. Turn off the noxious gas and go through the large door at the top of that room (if you completed the emperor quest, you're probably already familiar with this room)
4. From there head West north west, past the grease monsters (skill check here so they don't harm you otherwise you'll have a pretty hard fight)
5. Undercity ruins will be just north-ish from there
6. Shoot the corpses above the skull

So I am struggling just to find the sewer entrance. Anything more specific than 'right by basilisk gate?' Thanks!

It's a manhole cover just on the other side of the wall when you teleport to the location (I think it's directly east, like fifty feet)

You need to finish the quest with the murder tribunal. It took me long to figure it out/

Do you have to murder all the people to get the amulet? Because I chose to warn them. I entered the temple and now I'm at the second door.

Omfg i thought lower city was blocked by devs until I got far enough because the invisible wall there u have to press use on..... Lol wtf spent last hour goin all over lmfao I was about to give up til I noticed the invisible wall and "use" option pop up.... Were good to go now lol

Unless you mean later on, there is a SMALL door right after the broken column and that hideous fight with the fifty bhaal cultists

The door is just over the broken column that you pass over, you see that big gate? just inside on the righthand side. I went ALL over that trying to find it lol

This might be odd, but I'm having so much trouble getting through that fight. It's hideous as you say. Any tips? I'm hard stuck.

I think you might have to kill Gortash first, when i killed him i got his hand, similar to the ones The murder dwarf guy had

Everytime I try to talk to the "cop" Devella after the elephant guy she ignores the talk option and then runs out of the room and disappears. I don't think I'll be able to finish this questline. Does this mean I can't enter the temple? I don't know how else to get the password.

If you had the conversation between Orin and Gortash, and you had to pick, if you chose Orin's offer, when you kill Gortash, you'll get a letter from Orin that you'll need to read with the password

I THINK some merchant near the undercity ruins entrance has it, or it's at least somewhere near by or go to where you killed the murder god dude at the tribunal and loot his body for his amulet if you didn't already

Once you go through that door, and you end up on the long bridge just after the arcane sigil fast point check point thing called "temple of bhaal" - how do you open that grey door? no corposes around??

Yeah i have that problem too i have no idea how to open the big stone doors at the end of the bridge

To open the big stone door next to the Undercity ruins fast travel point, you will need an item called Amulet of Bhaal.

You get this by completing the quest chain "Solve the open hand temple murders", at end of that quest, you will get into a boss fight, without spoiler-- you fight a big muscle dude with his long thicc poky thing and 3 girls.

After beating him, you will get the amulet from his body, go back to the door with the amulet and interact with the door, new option will pop up to let you open the door.

Same thing goes for the stone door past the Temple of Bhaal fast travel point (the door on stone bridge). Interact with the stone door while you have the amulet in your bag, new option will appear and let you open the door.
