dancing light wtf?! take protection from GOOD AND EVIL this is most of the things i think

Look at the duration, then choose. Spells that last until the next long rest are the best.

As long as you never take human and halfling you always have darkvision and light spells don't matter.

also another thing is protection from good AND evil is literally everything but neutral

i play as the devil horns one sorcerer, 12m dark vision but i thought more about using it on my mele caracters that might not see anything.

Hey mike not sure if you already knew but, Darkvision turns total darkness into "dim light", and dim light into "bright light". So, even though characters with Darkvision can see 12m in total darkness, certain checks and stealth actions are still affected by the "dim light" status. Also, even though it lets you see in the dark, you are still susceptible to surprise attack bonuses etc. from enemies if there isn't an actual source of light present. Hope this helps!

useless. You will find a ring who give you light for free.

Light cantrip is amazing in act 2 if you have more then one melee users. Then its pretty useless before act 2 and then the rest of the game after it. I wouldn't build around having either but if you have to pick an extra cantrip pick I always go light over dancing light personally.
Dancing Lights requires concentration.

Light you can cast on an object, and then throw that object wherever you want it. Or cast it on the melee character who is most likely to be right next to the monsters, in melee range.

The Daylight spell is situationally good, but I almost never find a use for Dancing Lights.

True, but then you're using up a ring slot just to get light.

sadly game has lot of things like this.... and items scrolls .... makes sure that loads of class things are useless and anyone can get it.

If you need it / want it, Dancing Lights can be used to Trip Mines and Block Vents. Not sure how those physics work, but... meh.

Gets minor illusion instead, I think it's worth a ring slot. It all depend on how many cantrips are available.

Impossible to ramble up every combination.

True strike is good on a warlock since warlock deals damage on enemy turn and not its own.

Its all situational depending on if you want or need X cantrips. You could have them all and there be nothing to speak of.

If you stand in fire are you not enlightened?

yeah and? just busy work cos you can prebuff... The whole thing is just bad game design cos as a dev you should realize that items like that just turn into busy work and you should tackle things in different way.

Same thing as with pickpocketing ring as an example that gives you -1 charisma...when you use it. it's literally just a busy work, tedium stat that does nothing mechanically.
Or how you have to recast Shillelagh every 10 turns for some reason again turns into a tedium spell cos most fights end before that 10 turn.

definitely not worth gazzilion busy work recasts players will have to do just so on a rare edge case the fight will last longer than 10 turns
