Also funny enough you can pickpocket off it from her in the tea house before doing anything else
Damn, is it purely the locket or the woman herself? Since you can pickpocket off her and then take the wand for yourself
Ps any chance you can spoil me the whole thing of what it does etc? I could prob spend a good 30min finding the id and cheat engine it in but want to make sure I not wasting my time… surprised there’s no solid info on the wiki or anything
*spray bottle*
It’s ridiculous how much info you can not find past act 1. Big sad.
Edit: also cause I’m extremely curious as even though I have the wand I have not yet use the guy… which feels like a waste
The game hasn't been out that long in full form, most people have only been playing Act 1 which was all that was available in early access.
I played alpha, long time ago, and I vaguely remember, the locket had a curse put on from Ethel the Hag that can track you if you keep or her and a baby miscarriage and also a door that I could not open at Connor's place or something connected to him, had to replay only to learn the horrors above, just not sure how to get or avoid them. Been a while, so don't hold me to it and might be changed after release. I did a lot of wrong choices during that time, it's very hard to make that one good choice, and a lot of others that lead the other way. This game really does push the Butterfly effect.
fun fact with a lot of save scumming and experimenting i managed to kill Auntie Ethel, take the +1 ability , save Mayrina , save the 4 masked guys (or at least one of them , the others are to far gone but at least they stay alive) .
what you need to do is first sneak past the masked guard (will make the fight with Ethel far far harder specially if you want to keep them alive) , then when you reach Ethel fight area keep one of your companions hidden and out of the fight and with enough burst damage (potion or spell of invisibility with manual turn based mode to stop it from running out massively help) , then start the fight with you other three characters (Auntie Ethel will summon the 4 other masked guards witch would make the fight harder specially that if you want them to stay alive you need to ignore them AND NOT KILL THEM) , then focus down Ethel until she only has few hit points left so that she start the dialogue and offer you the deal at the start of her turn (in my experience from 1 to 20 hit points left) , then intimidate her to give you the hair (+1 ability) and free Mayrina , but you will have another final dialogue option with her YOU NEED TO STOP NOW DONT CHOSE ANYTHING AND KEEP THE DIALOGUE !!!, now manually change characters to your single character that is out of combat now take and chose the +1 ability reward from the pop up and use him to one shot kill her while she is speaking with you (i used a rogue assassin and his sneak attack with a potion of invisibility personally ) , she will die , the masked guards will stop being hostile and one of them will still be sane and tell you that she will meet you at Baldur's gate , you will also free the scared elf and petrified dwarf upstairs , and you will still get her +1 ability score reward and save Mayrina , the game will act as if you killed Ethel ,the only down side is that her body disappear and you lose her loot but to be honest its not that good any way.
also a warning this is extremely difficult to do at the low level you normally would meet her at specially if you are level 4 like I was without save scuming .
********* end
My persolan favorit aproach in alpha, but not sure how much you brake any questline with that, there was no way of testing out and still to early. I will save this one for one of my playthroughs though. But not on 1st.
That is some awesome tactic! I don't do that with the masked dudes, I just kill all 4 of them, but definitely choose to let Mayrina live and also the +1 stat, so Ethel goes away. I wonder if she makes a comeback at some point and also wondering what the locket does. Some people said it may be of use when you get to Baldur's Gate, some said Ethel can track you with it. Unsure as of yet, will see what happens.
