jeah about that game
is it polished: yeah (it better be after 3year EA instead of 1)
has it some cool written story: jes (all voice acting is really good and fun)

but the devil is in the details and this game has a lot of devils:
1) pathfinding:
pathfinding in the beginning of act 2 is ♥♥♥♥♥ annoying as hell, made me quit now for a while because I wasnt having this ♥♥♥♥ with the ♥♥♥♥♥ jumps and climbs separating all folks, same with initiating fights, its very hard to position your party before encounters and have a proper suprise round, sometimes the teammates stand there but are not in the tb combat bc ... I don't know why they literally stand there but let the one guy opening the strike ditch it out with the gangbangers.... horrid
2) sorting inventory:
the inventory management is a ♥♥♥♥♥ joke, this sorting option is not enough to get through all this mess, I take it you can select items for vendoring but until you meet a vendor they still visible and cluttering the whole inventory, and sorting for equipment eg. also lists the equipped items... no just horrible
3) DnD?:
this is clearly not a DnD game,eg. the cleric can turn undead ONCE at level 5? I never played 5th but every cleric looks forward to the first proper undead encounter bc this TU usually feels impactful and fun, but guess how it feels in the first proper UD encounter beg act 2?.... jeah ♥♥♥♥♥ great, thanks for the downer... I just don't get the direction here, watering down dnd mechanics for?...
4) mechanics:
the watered down mechanics show and as someone who enjoys DnD ruleset this ♥♥♥♥♥ sucks ass.... lots of it just doesn't make sense as already encountered in EA these environment mechanics from divinity ruin the fun for a DnD enjoyer BIG time, this is dumbed down to being unfun and forcing this crap half implementation of dnd on you, WHY???
5) choices:
I know its insano how many lines of dialog this has but how about focusing on the really impactful choices? example: when encountering the 3 gobo camp evils end of act 1 esp the drow, I fully planned on showing the drow force the grove location but before they arrive informing the grove people to lay them a trap, double agent style... but no this option isnt possible, boo ♥♥♥♥♥ hoo too bad the fun choice isnt there
6) the camp mechanic:
Guess thats me but I don't like to have all the characters available to talk to, for me the old BG 2 style take em or leave em MAKES A LOT MORE SENSE, not only is it more interesting for a 2nd walkthrough to see all the missed character interactions, it feels like a chore to feed gale some ♥♥♥♥♥ magic items when he isn't even in my party of choice... you shouldn't be able to explore their story when you haven't decided for them to be in your party, I don't get this idea at all

Technically I can't really complain the fidelity of the game is great, I never encountered any crashes or glitches (again for 3 years in EA that was the expectation) story is cool and also characters have very good story arcs, the voice acting is godlike and compared to most other releases currently this is a nice quality blast from the past, where games went gold when they were polished too shiny!

but there are lots of annoying things like pathfinding, missclicking due to camera and all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ stuff from divinity in this game when they could have just kept the looks but not the mechanics from divinity... for me personally a miss, maybe mods can make the dream come true and implement a proper DnD game then this could be a real gem
