Gale romance bug?

Apologies if it has been posted before, I have not found new threads.

So I remember that in EA triggering Gale's romance was kind of complicated and required careful steps (not to leave the Grove, not to recruit Wyll, do everything slowly and rest a lot).

I have managed to trigger the weave scene (in EA and now), which was supposed to trigger party romance with him. However, I did not have the scene after it where he confesses about Mystra, and if I recall correctly, EA had this scene.

Gale as a romance option is supposedly available, any companion is, so I am not sure what has changed in the release and why is it not triggering.

Anyway, my question is - did someone here have the same bug? What's the workaround? How many times do I need to rest and where not to wander?

Update:

I did have a romance with him :) Without spoilers: there is an encounter when you first enter Moonrise Tower. Chances are - you'll need long rest after it, and then I got the projection scene with Gale.

After inviting you to meet him, you are prompt to choose supplies for the long rest, you need to do it and then it all happens.

You need to pick up "imagine kissing him", that would trigger the romance, anything else doesn't trigger it, I am pretty sure...

Same issue. I got every single "pre-romance" scene - never once did he ever friendzone me. I've gone back several hours and replayed twice and same result. Nothing happens before we have to leap down the rabbit hole. Ironic, my first playthrough on a character I didn't want to romance him on, got the scene and had to turn him down. With my first PT, I never flirted with him, broke the weave, saying it was time to go to sleep; never encouraged him in the slightest. I get the scene. This PT was for him and I flirted like mad with him and no one else. Nothing. Irony at its greatest. So, hanging up this PT for now and hope something either gets fixed or a save editor comes out. :( He, apparently, prefers girls to play hard to get. update: I would like to note that in my first PT when the scene worked, Gale had died and been revived. In the second, where the scene didn't load, he did not die/revive. Not sure if that even matters, but I thought to mention it. Also, had no mods

Fret not, romance does happen, but a bit later, in the Act 2. Just make sure to take the long rest when everything points towards the big fight.
I know it's a long wait, but it actually makes sense with him.
Also it continues in the Act 3, depending on your choices and actions.

Does your character have a peen? Because that seems to be a green light for him.

Seriously though, most people have problems with him being super pushy with his advances, no idea why you would have trouble getting it to trigger.

I did take the long rest after the entry battle at Moonrise and before jumping down the rabbit hole after the white hare. The scene did not spawn. As mentioned, I went back several hours (many saves back) and replayed through those hours twice, still no scene. My guess is that he needed to die and be revived with the pouch he tells you to use in Act 1. He never died in my 2nd playthrough. I flirted with him and he never died. Those are the two differences between my first playthrough where the scene did take place and the second playthrough where it did not spawn.

Yes, he has never died in my current playthrough and I never used the pouch on him.

I think what's important is to get a small scene after the first fight in Shadow Lands? He tells you that you look great, all battle-weary and such. I assume it's kind of a promise/trigger for the later full romance?

Also, I think you need to have the rest before the big battle at the Moonrise entrance, not even when you face Ketheric. That's when it all happened. And next morning it was the big battle.

Yes, he has never died in my current playthrough and I never used the pouch on him.

I think you may be correct. Gale had a ! over his head after that battle but I figured I would just talk to him at camp. It was gone at camp and nothing ever happened again afterwards.

Does the declined romances count, do you know by any chance? I had a dance scene with Wyll, but refused the kiss and walked away. In theory it shouldn't count, I would assume...

I don't think so. After the dance with wyll Gale made no mention of having to choose. He only did that if you kissed Wyll.

So, if you refuse Wyll's kiss nothing happens? I've seen the bugs with this romance and if it happens to me, I'm going to cry.

Because Wyll made me the scene without having him in the team and almost without talking to him xD
