Even if they just copy/paste it, there is simply too many things that drama-queens will complain about. LIke how you can make kids and whatnot.
Even though this allowed you to make memes runs (like making Michael Jackson with kids as companions)
Even with the best character creator: it will alwayw be gimped by the loud western minority that police thoses kinds of things (and probably don't play games anyway) And you can't beat them before this feeling of power of making X Y Z studio cave is their sustenance and powerfantasy.
Tl;DR
A character creator of such quality can create to many "problems" so it will never be done again.
There is a TON of mocap work that went into this game, and that naturally puts limits on what you can do with character creation, at the trade off of having extremely immersive dialogue and cutscenes.
I love both DD and BG3, and I recognize that they’re different games with different ambitions - ambitions which they both achieve phenomenally.
There is 0 excuses to have such a bare bones character creator..
Wasteland 3 almost has more character creation and it was made by an even smaller studio.
