How do you get past the Magical Door at the Captain's Quarters in the Creche Y'ellk?

This might be an easy one but I'm afraid I may have sold the required item... Thus why I made this post. I've spent the last 30m trying items and searching online but I couldn't find much. Does anyone know what item do you need to put in?

found it its called a gith shard

honestly I killed the captain and looted her gith shard. Keep the door closed and you won't aggro every gith in there. Also considering later options, you may not have a choice about gith aggro or not

how are you able to use the shard? I ended up fighting the captain when i didn't turn over the weapon and i have the gith shard she took off. But the whole room was a danger zone since i first walked in so i cant use the items in there

click on the barrier disruptor, and insert the shard from your inventory when the prompt comes up

Same problem. I killed everyone, but it's still a danger zone so I can't use the shard. Frustrating

I walked up to the barrier, clicked on it, the slot came up, transfered the gith shard into the slot and bam, done

you can pick pocket it off the gith.
i thought that i was being clever and thought i had found a loop hole. but no. this is actually what you're supposed to do I guess. i mean i have no idea how else you'd manage to get it other than taking it by force. but yeah you're MEANT to go through that door. So, whatever means you have to use to do it, do it.

I implore you to take a long rest first though lol

Had the same problem, managed to clip through barrier using chair and blocking closest stand up points, found about it in this video
