Ability Check (like above)
or Saving Throw (same but to prevent f.e attack aim at the person with the buff)
Also, it eventually worked after I switched the "Ask" toggle a bunch of times
So it won't trigger if your roll is so low you can't succeed even with the bardic inspiration. It also won't trigger if your roll already successful even without bardic insipation. In both scenarios it will be just wasting of buff so the game prevents you from this.
