why are you forced to side with [SPOILER]?
you literally are forced to side with goblins after the actual impossible encounter the game throws at you way too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ early into the game, now im stuck with choices i didnt even want too make and killed off half of the games companions because of a soft lock, really dumb lack of player choice

There are literally so many ways to deal with the Goblin's camp that your head will spin. You just not even trying to use a pinch of creativity. And you are not locked to anything, i sided with goblins purely for roleplay purposes, because Drow\rogue\monk, yeah, but even after siding with them i could betray them in so many ways, that my hands had a physical itch to do something devious.

Also, you can deal with a whole camp on lvl 1 and solo...just need to reload a lot, because not every "accident" goes as you plan.
have you never saved the game? just reload before the fight and do something else. you can't be "stuck" in an encounter.

I played good and evil character in Act 1, I never felt forced to choose a side, I have no idea what you talk about. If you kill the goblin camp as a chad good character, you will get much praise from the tieflings when you go back to the grove, they will see you as hero.
Until you keep the fights in the separated rooms of the camp, you can pretty easily kill all goblins in the camp, you can even backstab some for easy kill.
Or you can choose to go back to the grove and defend it when their raiders arrive, but I think that is boring and easier way to deal with them.

That battle is 100% winnable and you are not FORCED to do anything...
So my post stands...
Git Gud

As for the post itself, when I replied someone had replied 1 hour before, I am not in the habit at looking at the post date of the OP for every topic I visit.

I literally did the opposite you said. how in the hell are u forced to anything? Ive noticed a tendency in this game to claim you have been forced to do things that are completely optional.

I went the evil path of killing the whole druid grove today and it was everything but easy, i felt so dirty and bad.. every fiber in my body tells me "no you cant do that" but i wanted to experience the evil side and as i then later aproached our beloved tiefling from hell, she didnt even let me ask much before she attacked me.. *sighs* I feel so sad.. hold me tight, shadowheart.. i need your... hmm soft.." uhm sorry.. got carried away :>

You can defeat the goblins if you understand the basics of combat. Especially the right positioning and forcing goblins to walk through your traps can kill all of them before they even reach you.

But, if you struggle with combat, you can just play on the lowest difficulty. If you are new to DnD 5e and the freedom of turn-based combat in Larian games, you should stay on the lowest difficulty.

The whole combat in BG3 depends on more or less all your skills. If you don't use positioning and maybe even stuff like throwing enemies off cliffs, you will most likely be unable to even win some fights. Don't play BG3 like other RPGs. In BG3 you depend on everything you can do and just using one skill over and over makes combat impossible in higher difficulties.
i have 1 companion and only level 2 dude, way to early, i know i didnt min max obviously but its extremely easy to lock yourself in this fight , especially after you bypassed or combat encounters with speech checks
What fight are you even talking about? With 1 companion and level 2 .. that's like what the first fight after crash against a bunch of brains xD

Incorrect. You are not "forced" to side with the Goblins. I wiped out the entire Goblin camp. And all the others I came across in Act 1.
