Spoilers about Halsin

I have an issue with Rescue the Druid Halsin quest. I am going to use spoiler tags to explain.

After killing Halsin in the Worg Pens. My quest "Rescue the Druid Halsin" tells me he has been defeated but his research could help me. Where can I find this research so I could hopefully complete the quest and not have it stuck in my Journal?

I think it's back in the druid enclave in the secret room that Nettie tries to "cure" you in.

I found the way to open the door to the Hidden Chamber but cannot find the research. What is the item called?

It was on the desk on the left once you enter it. Halsin's journal etc. Assuming that's what the quest is looking for. Talk to NPCs and inform them of his death and they'll likely point the way.

Oh I already killed everyone at the Grove so I guess the quest might be stuck for me then lol...the game seems to get confused if you kill "good aligned" NPCs or make them leave. I guess I just need to keep looking as I turned Halsin's Journal upside down.

So...I'm in a similar predicament. Didn't kill Halsin, but can't find him after freeing him from the worg pens. I have spent hours searching and can't find him anywhere. The grove is empty due to fighting breaking out and most people dying...so like, where do I go from here lmao

Ok so I have been stuck in the same situation for a day or so now. I just traveled back to the front gate of the emerald grove, where the Goblins first attack the grove rangers, with the gate. Halsin’s dead body was there, and after using speak to the dead on the body I was able to complete the journal entry! Hope this helps! You need to speak to Halsins dead body!

Same happened to me, but the other druids are around because I want them to kill the refugees. But I can't find anyone to inform about Halsins "untimely" death.

I found a solution to this:

In Act 2 after recruiting Minthara, her inventory had a diary by Halsin. Reading the diary completed the quest.

Wow, wierd. Since his research is in the grove, I guess I forgot some dialogue or something.

I picked up the journal and it read that another book would be kept on his person...after I had already looted his corpse. Can't find anything remotely like a journal in my inventory, worried it hasn't spawned or that I accidentally sold it. No idea how to progress, I'm doing a PC only run.
