Differences in game requirements
Greetings everyone
Im really interested in BG3 but sadly i'm on a gaming laptop of 7 years of age and quite frankly, i dont know if it can handle the game.

I've run several "can I run it"-tests and surprisingly a few of them states that i meet the "recommended" requirements, whereas som claim i barely meet the minimum.
What is real?

My specs;
CPU: Intel Core i7-8750H @ 2,2Ghz,
RAM: 16GB
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060

As always; thank you for your amazing support guys n girls

Should be fine.
Here is a video of the release version running on a GTX 1060.

Really hard to say. Laptop 1060 GPU is not the same as descktop 1060… Normally Nvidia laptop specks are about one level below destop name sakes.

Cool, but is that a desktop or laptop version of the 1060?

Performance wise there is only about a 10% difference between the two.
Its definitely not big enough to switch the game to unplayable from whats shown in the video.

I think you can run it, but don't expect it to run on highest settings.

Hard to know unless someone posts with exactly the same laptop as you.
But I would think from your specs you have a really good chance of maybe running at 60fps on medium settings.
You can always refund it if it is not good enough for you as you will get a good idea from the early stages of the prologue to see if your laptop can cope.

I think you should be fine to run on mostly "high" just turn all the optional stuff down, like the shadows and AA.

You should be fine as long as it is the 6 GB version of the 1060.

the game is worth it, to take that "leap of faith/hope" that it'll run decent for ya.

It is.

I'm on a desktop from 2017 roughly. Tend to get between 40 and 60 fps on high depending on location. You should be fine as long as you aren't pushing super high resolutions.

i5 7400 3.0GHz
16gb RAM
GTX 1060 3GB

I have the same system (i7 CPU and GTX 1060 6GB, both almost 8 years old) like you but with only 12GB DDR3 Ram and until yesterday it worked perfectly fine.

However, today, I started it up and now I can only select a resolution of 1300x768 or so. All other resolution picks in the menu are gone.
Downloaded the new Nvidia driver but still doesn´t work.
