Why can I not have a Dragonborn guardian?
Thats my only question about the game. Other than dragonborns have less genitalia options than others but I dont really care about that.

There are lore reasons behind it. Without spoilering too much, the Dragonborn race in D&D is too young to be a guardian.

Can you please elaborate with spoilers or some reliable source to dig in to understand why there's no dragonborn guardian? I'm not afraid if it's too much of a spoiler I just have paranoia now about the reasons why is that. I thought that guardian takes any form you like because it's form kinda imaginary but if there's a limits to that because guardian is very real... well it slightly ruins my playthrough - I roleplay that guardian intentionally look like "childhood friend" of my CC

Short story is that it was planned but unfortunately they didn't have enough time to implement it so they took out that option.

That is the most probable, and realistic, explanation IF we assume that the Devs are a professional team passionate of their work.

You also can't have a dragonborn hireling. But yea, in the spirit of the game, you should have your guardian as a dragonborn, get a dragonborn hireling, etc etc.

I can understand the many reasons why there is not a billion races to chose to play as (lore/gameplay_game_development reasons include why playing as a Goblin was an absolute NO), but I mean... comedically ridicolous choices aside, like the Guardian being a wheel of cheese, why not have IT being a goblin?

That makes no sense.

MASSIVE SPOILERS ABOUND

The Emperor is not taking the form of who he was before becoming a mindflayer, as he was Balduran - and Balduran was a human. When The Emperor takes form as a dream guardian, he is doing it purely to make you more comfortable speaking to him - which is why he can take the form of a female. There's no lore reason why he cannot take the form of a dragonborn.

Dragonborn while pretty, are significantly underpowered compared to other racial choices.

Pretty sure Dragonborn only came to Faerun around the time of the spellplague and BG3 is set in 1492. So the first dragonborn ever to set foot on Faerun only did so at most a little over 100 years before the game as spellplague started in 1385. So yeah trying to pretend he is a dragonborn when he references being around before they ever came to Faerun would be an obvious giveaway that he is lying.
