"Save Mayrina" Bug

Fix the bugs with this quest already. These bugs were found back in 2020. The quest is impossible to finish. If Ethel is killed in the house, Mayrina just stands after the dialog in the last room. Ethel can be invisible in the last room. After Ethel's death, Mayrina may refuse to speak at all. The coffin continues to remain under a magical barrier.
Why are the bugs from 2020 still in the game?

Just did this one for the first time & everything seemed to go mostly as expected & in order: called out Ethel in the teahouse
she teleported Maryina, went invis, then dispelled illusion on the fireplace & split
we jumped through fireplace & killed the masks on the way to main chamber
cutscene w/ Ethel w/ Maryina in cage triggered
we killed first wave of hag illusions & Shadowheart put out the cage w/ a water bottle toss in round 1
was luckky enough to hit Ethel & not Maryina first when she she disguises herself as the latter
took Ethel down to 1 HP w/ the last damage being a frenzied throw of Alchemist fire from Karlach as the last action for my party in the round (was somewhat sad here the convo to make a deal w/ Ethel didn't trigger before On Fire ticked at the start of next round, but oh well...)
got ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at by Maryina in instant cutscene after Ethel died
go through convo Maryina instantly walks off into fire on exit & goes aggro on party
quest broken...

Guess I have to play the Ethel fight again w/ no fire ><

Went about this in a different way than any of my previous 5 playthroughs and managed to kill Ethel before she could take Mayrina and leave the teahouse. Went down to her lair and all her victims were free of her influence, unpetrified, unhypnotized... Found Bitter Divorce and went to the coffin only to find the Arcane Barrier still intact. Never seen that happen before. Mayrina stays sat in the teahouse in her chair crying, and when I talk to her, it just restarts her dialogue where she says, like, "You ruined everything!" No moving forward. Can't target Connor and raise him. Mayrina won't go to the back. Don't know what to do about this.

FINALLY! I MANAGED TO UNSTUCK HER! You cannot surprise attack Ethel, you need to go into the house, talk to her and then tell Mayrina about her dead brothers and so on and so forth. Only then she will not be stuck in that annoying angry dialogue if you kill Ethel before she escapes into her lair.

Killing mayrina ends the quests but the coffin its still unreachable. i hope they fix this

Same here I am thinking of killing Mayrina now :(

Just posting here to say the bug is STILL a problem, so for now no surprise attacks on the hag.

the quest is still bugged, i prevented the brothers from dieing, and since the new update the hag doesn't turn invisible and doesn't run away because she is in my line of sight and she just stays there waiting to be killed... i was really hoping to get one of her perm buffs, but even if i get her to 1 hp the dialog doesn't trigger... is there any way to flag this bug so its addressed in future patches?

Sounds like you bugged it by saving the brothers, they are meant to die.

Don't kill her in the house. Besides, letting her live and saving Mayrina nets better rewords.

I just finished this quest and it completed without a problem. Got a +1 boost to my Dexterity and saved Mayrina as well. Maybe it has to do with Killing the Hag in the house as I don't think that is where she should be killed at.

I get it's a "do what you want" kind of game. But you know there's a bug, you know what triggers it, why not just finish the quest normally until the bug is patched? You kind of have to min/max and/or save scum to get that result, they probably didn't think it was possible so the quest logic doesn't account for it.
Can you even access the hag lair if you cheese the prefight?

You're assuming players know it's a bug prior to killing the hag in the house. You're assuming that players know it's a bug after they continue on after killing the hag in the house. You're assuming that players aren't coming on here, to report the bug, after hours of continued playing believing that the quest requires something else later and don't look up that it's a bug in fear of spoiling the story.

Starting your comments with "But you know there's a bug" is not conducive to productive conversation and fixing this issue. You just made yourself look like an ass.
