Bug or poor implimentation of Necrotic aura?

I accepted Gale to join the party...I tried to save the goblin from being murdered for the death of someone else that she didn't commit where the druids are trying to evict the outsiders near the start of the game. he now has a necrotic aura that wont go away and the game feels broken at this point he cant move with the party without killing them my only thought is i have to for the third time restart the beginning of the game because as others mentioned the auto saves do not seem to work at opportune times. I have not even gotten to anything about a quest or dialogue with him of warning. Documentation on this is really hard to find anything helpful. Is the only option to just avoid the portal and never interact with him at all to prevent him from just breaking the game, what am i missing here?

Yeah, he just board wiped my entire party with his necrotic aura...

Yeah, something is seriously broken with Gale.

For me, he died, and is now stinking up my camp with his necrotic aura.

Is there a way to get rid of him permanently?

I had the same issue. He died in combat and I revived him. Didn't realize he was the source of the necrosis. When I teleported back to camp he wiped out the rest of my team since they were all low health

Same, he just smoked my entire team with AOE in a small room. Progress hard bricked. He died, I rezzed him, he killed everyone.
He's putting out the aura so I can't get near anyone, can't even go buy res scrolls.
Hard locked into the situ because I revived a party member.

for me resting at the camp reset the condition and everythign was fine afterwards.

There's a specific way you're supposed to ressurect gale due to spoilers, it's also very reminiscent of Jim Darkmagic so I thought it was funny but if you res him in combat you never get to see it play so you just feel like you're getting punished for no reason. It's very badly implemented.

thats exactly what i have done and it worked out.
maybe its no bug - it just happend after i got the Necromancer book...

it also happens when he is downed and you ressurect him with a scroll (so not dead yet). I remember reading somewhere that you should go to camp without him and then rest? Can't find the artikle anymore unfortunately.

feels like a bug tho since it also triggers when he is downed, not just triggers when he died....
