How do i beat phase spiders?

Whats the ideal level to kill this is all i want to know. Currently on lvl3 and i cant win. Thought id come back later

The tactics everyone is talking about are quite obvious but when it is about to die it goes on berserk mode hitting twice (one of the moves take away 20hp), never misses while I can't hit a single time to save my life

lvl3 is more than enough to kill the phase spiders. I use thunderwave to push the queen down the pit.

But then you gotta jump down for the loot.

Frustrating to say the least

Managed to do it at lvl4 with orgres help and still had a few downed but got them up and managed to kill everything. It helps if you sneak in and kill the 2 egg clutches you can reach with acid splash first

but they are teleportable, imagine in real life a spider that can suddenly appear behind your back and then on your face, horrible

I did beat the encounter at level 3, normal mode. Took one restart to adjust my strategy. I burned through most of my potions at the time though and it was a really close shave. And I don't think I'm particularity good at the game either, I am a complete beginner when it comes to actual DnD.

Most of the harder fights you have to roleplay as a multi-dimensional time-traveller, i.e load your game and try a different strategy with what you learned the previous time.
I thought this was a b******* fight until I came back the second time user forcewave to send most of the spiders plummeting to their deaths, knocked down the matriarch twice, use my rogue to destroy these smaller eggs in stealth before the fight began.
Not much loot for me though, but if I remember from my last playthrough, it's just a bunch of silk glands.
If shadowheart has summon ethereal weapon, it's immune poison damage, I imagine other summoned entities are as well. Lots of saving throws in this fight due to poison so use bless.

If you know the fight, and this is a really cheese friendly fight, lv 3 is enough, but I remember dying in my first playthroughs, so I say lv 4 is ideal if you are learning as you go.

I got 2 tips for you!

in the goblin village, there is 3 ogres that you can hire for 500 gold (or a very persuasive check). Call them to help you during the fight.

I have not tested myself, but I've seen someone using Gale's thunder spell to push the big spider down the chasm.

This game force you to use your creativity when the odds aren't in your favor, so there is always a way to win :)

I don't remember exactly what level I was but that battle was a rough one as I was (still am?) slow to really grasp all the combat approaches in BG3.

The rest of the party was downed and my Gold Dwarf Pal had a very small amount of HP left facing down the Big Mama. No spell slots left and I remembered the Drow Poison I had. Coated my weapon, she failed the saving throw and fell asleep.

Used her nap to revive two companions and we laid the final smackdown while she was slumbering. Before she was laid to rest another companion was downed, then afterwards another by Gales necrotic stench which i was very confused about.

Never got the cutscene of him explaining his... situation, probably because I fast traveled back to camp to revive him via Withers.

Very close to a party wipe but yeah Drow Poison was clinch for me that time.

Everyone knows that fight can be easily dealt with when it comes to blowing up the eggs and retreating back to the previous fight so that the queen cannot fight you.

If worse comes to worse you could rely on using the ogre horn to call them in to help you. Assuming you convinced them to follow you for meat and gold.

depending on your gift of glib, they are good for at least 3 fights.
