Mindflayer Specimen not being added to inventory bug?

hokay, so i've been collecting the little tadpole specimens, but as soon as the dream guardian asked me to consume one all of my mindflayer specimen disapeared from my inventory and any time i pick a new one up it isn't added to my inventory, it just stops existing. is anyone else having this issue?

I've defeated supposedly 5 people who had parasite, the dwarf with the apprentice, gnoll and three goblins. And top right only has 4. When we killed the dwarf, his parasite ran out of his body like a minion and we shot it.

Went back to the dwarf, it's a Mind Flayer Tadpole body that I picked up in my inventory, dead.

I encountered a similar bug. After I consumed my first tadpole, I found another one. Once I grabbed it, my previous tadpole was rolled back and I only had the one I just picked up.

I have taken multiple tadpoles and my experience in the window never increases. Guess I'm completely locked out of Illithid powers now. Great. Love that an entire skill tree is unusable now.

I haven't absorbed any tadpoles, went to the goblin camp and have killed all the leaders- only got a mini cutscene option for one, denied and got the "you're not ready I get it" dialogue after the dream saying I should accept the tadpole and eat another. With the other two leaders anytime I walk past their bodies I get a dialogue, as well as the corpse in the grove. No tadpoles to be seen or looted, no potions/jars/bottles of tadpole in my inventory, and I haven't seen any tadpole skill tree no matter how I poke around trying to figure things out.
Who knows, I may just get a full resist temptation playthrough for the fact of never being given the temptation again.

The temptation is pretty much forced on you during one of the camp rests, but it doesn't mean you actually forced to use them, it's just unlocks brain burrowing skill tree. And in the end of the act 2 it's upgrades too.

i lost 3 in the same way, moved them out of my inventory and they disappeared :((((
edit: nevermind, they were definitely in the ithilid menu. hit "B" to open

I have the same issue. I have the illithid skill tree unlocked but the number of specimens I have remains at 1 and does not increase. Any new specimens I get automatically disappear from my inventory and never appear in the skill tree either. Just happened again in Gymforge and I made sure to collect the specimen separately after looting other items

I also have the same issue. I've collected at leaat 4 and still stuck on one tadpole in the skill tree which i can't spend. Frustrating - i thought i did something wrong and started a new character but same thing happened. At this point, I've given up and just continued on.

same bug collect the parasites, immediately disappears, and nothing change in the B menu.

Also encountering the same problem. Sometimes it dit add, but most of the times it didnt.
So when I got the chance I had to test it out. Saved before picking up one to check if other characters in my party had the same problem.

Unfortunately no tadpoles in the inventory or in the "B" (Illithid powers) menu no matter which character I used. Defenitly a bug in my game.

You only have to Consume the very first one and special ones later in Act3, all others get added as "Skillpoints" in the Tadpole Management screen automaticly

This is it! Just tested it out and the parasite goes missing but you receive a point in the Illithid tab. Thank you SO much!

I had to restart the game to get it working properly, thankfully I was only 5 hours or so in.

they dont pop in my inv anymore, a tadpole icon next to minimap lights up with (x1) when i find one , then i pop it in right away.

I'm getting this bug right now! I just sent two jars to Wyll from the camp chest, and they just disappeared! He didn't consume any, they aren't in the 'pool.' They're just gone.

Also, the jar I looted off of Nere is also gone. Huge, huge bug here.

I collected many parasites, used the powers in dialogue multiple times, consumed one of them and had the rest vanish, been advised by my guardian to grow the parasite's abilities, after all that when I go to the brain skill tree I still only have 1 available parasite and can't place it. I drag it to the one slot that's not greyed out and it makes a noise when I try to place it but fails to actually place.
