Though the exact words and strictures of the Oath of Devotion vary, paladins of this oath share these tenets.
Honesty: Don’t lie or cheat. Let your word be your promise.
Courage: Never fear to act, though caution is wise.
Compassion: Aid others, protect the weak, and punish those who threaten them. Show mercy to your foes, but temper it with wisdom.
Honor: Treat others with fairness, and let your honorable deeds be an example to them. Do as much good as possible while causing the least amount of harm.
Duty: Be responsible for your actions and their consequences, protect those entrusted to your care, and obey those who have just authority over you.
So, if you want to break it you'd need to:
1. lie and cheat,
2. don't act
3. don't help others, harm or don't protect the weak, don't punish those who threaten the weak, don't show mercy.
4. treat others with unfairness, and let your dishonorable deeds be an example to them. Do has much evil as possible while causing the most amount of harm.
5. don't be responsible for your actions and consequences. do not protect those entrusted to your care. disobey those who have just authority over you (or obey those that have unjust/no authority over you).
Already did a lot of this just to try and break it, including what I mentioned in the first post, which are apparently triggers. Feels like it might be a bug.
Got to it, weirdly it doesn't even allow my drow paladin to torture Liam. All my other companions can, just not me.
Haven't reached Liam yet, but I will try that one.
I guess it's bugged.. Very frustrating
