Are elixirs permanent?
I got one that gives an extra level 1 spell slot... Will that last forever as long as I dont use another elixir?

I wondered that myself, cheers. It would be good if it told you that on the elixir itself before drinking it too.

god forbid this game tells you all the info you need to know in one tooltip, the universe might implode if it ever does (and yeah I ticked the "always show all of the info" option).

Well the info would fit since other things show how long stuff effects you

Calm down lol Relax a little Superior gamer 😂 They have a valid point. What he's saying would be nice & if it said "elixirs last until long rest" wouldn't be hand holding. It's withholding information which just makes it unnecessarily tedious than some type of comprehension skill. Be nicer it'll help your health

If you don´t like it maybe go back to other AAA Titles, but don´t come back whining that they are way worse :D

Don´t get me wrong, Its ok to give the Feedback that this should be included into the Tooltip but not in the way you did this ;)

I was wondering a bout this too, I didn't think they were permanent of course, but I wondered if they lasted 10 turns in combat or something.

BTW what's the deal with coatings (poisons and such), do they last a long rest too?

I'm also confused and leery of trying this elixir. I understand that it only lasts until a long rest. So if I use it after I rest, then how do I learn a spell to put in that extra spell slot? I only learn the spell when I long rest, right?

5E moved away from Vancian casting. You don't need to prepare spells in specific spell slots any more.

I think they mean preparing an additional spell like when you get another spell slot when leveling up?

I figured it was only temporary but the way they worded it makes it sound that way. Larian did an awful job giving descriptions for effects.

It actually gets worse, while most elixirs lasts untill long rest atleast one (might be more) lasts 10 turns.

Didn't really help that it's no way of knowing before drinking it, and the fact that it's one of the most expencive/rare ones.

Sure it litterally made me invounerable, but I kind of assumed it would give me 50% resist.

For the record, I was annoyed by this too. It seemed like elixers would last forever but you could only have one active at a time. I saved and used one, and then learned about the until long rest thing, but it should tell you. Just like the cleric warding bond spell should tell you that it shares half the damage. Its dumb and leads to mistaken choices. In both cases its not a big deal since clerics can change spells whenever, and the potions are consumables, but it definitely should give this information up front.
