Cringephobia
Hello everyone, including guys, girls, and non-binary individuals. I'm grappling with cringephobia, and playing this game has become quite a challenge for me. The abundance of cringeworthy elements in the game makes it genuinely tough to immerse myself in the experience. It's like trying to enjoy a story while constantly feeling a sense of discomfort and awkwardness.

Every dialogue, character interaction, and scene that exudes cringe feels like a hurdle I have to overcome. It's not just a matter of personal preference; cringephobia genuinely heightens my anxiety and dampens my ability to enjoy the game fully. I find myself tensing up, dreading the next cringeworthy moment, and sometimes even avoiding progressing in the game just to evade those feelings.

If anyone has faced a similar challenge or has advice on how to manage cringephobia in the context of gaming, I would greatly appreciate your insights. It's important for me to find a way to enjoy this game without letting my fear of cringe get in the way.

Mod every character to be Duke Nukem, then make the Kings kiss like Ken dolls.

stop seeing "cringe" everywhere, the first step would be to actually buy the game

Dude its D&D, cringe is backed into the rules since they were written down in the 70s. Gotta embrace it and enjoy the silly

Thank you for funding my game.

It's nice to have your money.

Play it through the eyes of people who have never been outside and talked to a real human being before, or in rare special occasions that they’re forced into, like funerals and family reunions.

then problem solved, you have the game, now you can avoid cringe.

remarks aside: you saying "stuff is cringe" is unhelpful to actually helping you out, what are you finding "cringe", what does it even mean in context to you.

I'm currently dealing with a situation where an elf in the game is engaging in inappropriate and uncomfortable behavior towards my character. The interactions with this character are quite cringeworthy, and I've already discussed the problematic dialogues and interactions. It's unfortunate that this element is negatively impacting my overall gaming experience.

you have once again said nothing about what this elf is doing.

:: sigh::

It's a multi-plat game. I have the game on GOG but you won't see that, here. It's also on PS5, not sure if Xbox got it.

The nature of the content is too explicit and cringe-worthy for me to provide a detailed explanation here...

Considering our presence on the Baldur's Gate 3 Steam forum, where there's a significant representation of non-binary individuals, it's vital that we demonstrate respect and recognition towards them. This approach contributes to cultivating an inclusive and considerate environment that welcomes and values all members of the community.

Ah. Another developer that's mad that Larian made a great game trying to astroturf the game as being bad. Almost 600k people playing on Day 2. Make better games instead of being mad that Larian raised the bar.
