Extra NPC Character Can't Kick Out of Group

I have an extra NPC character named Tav who randomly joined me on the nautiloid and I can't talk to him and I can't kick him out of the group. Any idea?

pretty sure thats a created character? i rember when making an avatar the default name was tav

You left your game open to invitation, some random joined your game. I do not think you can get rid of player characters.

Are you a custom character or playing as a companion?

"Tav" is the default name for your custom character.

So i closed the open session and now i am stuck with this guy as a permanent member in my party and i don't want him and i cant dismiss him from the group. Anything I can do?

Yes I am having this same issue. I think it is a bug. Early access didn't have this issue.

I think so, as I said player characters cannot be removed. You'd have to start over, and make sure you turn off the ability for people to join you (in the options.)

I did kill him and his character portrait remains.

Thanks pretty lame as the game defaults to showing your session as always open for people to join.

It's not a bug, it's because the default setting for the game is that your steam friends can join you. And that leading to a permanent character in your party... yeah. In the options you can change your default session visibility, but I don't think you can remove people that have made characters in your game. You just have to go back to a save before they were there.
