Sell or Keep all gems and jewelry?

Has anyone found any use for keeping non enchanted jewelry or gems? I have been hoarding them, didn't mind until inventory started getting absurdly full.

I sell them all. Usually in these games, when there is an extra use for such an item, the description hints at it. These seem to be just valuables.

If you want to keep them you can always stash them in your camp, no need to carry them everywhere.

I kept them until I reached Baldur's Gate because I swear it said somewhere that merchants that specifically deals with the items would pay more but everyone I found paid the same so I finally just sold them off

It does not really matter what you do with them as long as you use them for trade. Right now one of the heaviest things in my inventory is the pile of gold I have. Keep in mind that you can barter with items as well as gold.

Nope just gold

While they're not exactly jewellery or gems, I've read that you use Silver Bars to upgrade your gear later on. No idea if this is true though.

There is no crafting in the game outside from a few items you can make. But all those iron, or gold ingots are just junk metal.

From the top of my head: black diamonds do have one use in act 3, but there is an alternative to needing them.. Also, infernal gems (if I recall their name correctly) do have a specific use.

Most of the crafting system was cut from the game. So no use for them at the moment.

Sell them. Same goes for bars and ingots which I read that they were suppose to be for crafting but was part of the cut content.

sadly that stuff was cut content, use to be crafting and all the ingots and what not were part of that system that is now not present in the game. Maybe Larian will work on a definitive edition like they have for the Divinity series and we will get all the content that was cut. There is a post on here that tells of all the data-mined info and content that was cut.
