Are inspiration points a one time thing?

Are they a finite resource? I get that they don't replenish on resting, but if you do "whatever you must to do gain one", do you gain it even if you previously did "whatever you must do to gain one" with the same character?

Each inspiration point earning event is one time, but there are enough to warrant spending them when you need them. Keep in mind you can never have more than 4 points saved up so if you are at the cap look for a good time to spend it to not lose the chance to gain more.

Eeewwwwww. That's one design decision I really won't ever be able to get behind.
