Enemies frozen in combat?!
Hey, anyone know a fix for when Enemies just get frozen in combat? It happened once in the grove when confronting the arch druid. And after that It's been the same after every combat. I've tried restarting the game, but Still the same.

According to Larian a couple years ago, the issue is that one of your companions is bugging the fight. The best way to fix the issue is to reload the save to a point where it works. I never had the issue in 50+ hours of early access but am having it now in full release. For me the character thats bugged is my main hero. When he is removed from combat (moved elsewhere) and the rest of the party start an encounter then the enemies are working no problem. Hopefully this is not the case for your playthrough and its one of the companions instead. RN the last save where combat wasnt broken was 10 hours ago so trying my best to try and find a fix without having to reload from 10 hours ago

This is a bit frustrating. I deliberately waited to buy the full game to avoid bugs and ran straight into this. 50 hours in and having to back track through hours of battles isn't a fun prospect. Surely a bug reported in 2020 should have been resolved. Don't recall this occurring at all with DOS/1/2

I had this three times in over 60 hours. I could always sort it out with saving and reloading.
I blame my ancient PC.

I had it a few times and I just waited. It takes longer but eventually they do start moving (or get skipped).

I have this issue intermittently too. It didn't happen in EA but is happening quite often since the full release. It comes and goes but occours in about a third of the fights.

Issue has been fixed for me after the big patch 1

Well, I'm having this problem now, V4.1.1.3700362, usually in large battles... I do *not* have an old, weak system, I have a powerful, upper-mid-range machine, and this hang is repeatedly occurring... I have to reload to some previous game, and re-fight parts of the battle; I've started quick-saving after every few hits so I don't have to replay so much when I hang again...

I am not using any mods in the game.

It has been particularly problematic at the huge, endless battle with Raphael at House of Hope, where it has happened a number of times now...

My system:
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, all updates installed
All drivers recently updated
CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X3D
32GB DRAM, 20GB+ free while game is running
GPU: NVidia RTX 2080 Ti
Storage: both OS and game drives are PCIe4 m.2 SSD drives with plenty of space free.
All CPU, MB, GPU temperatures are normal: 50-60 degsC while in-game

So there is no system reason for this, it is an issue with the game software.

I have this too and also a fairly new robust system. Like another commenter said, it does resolve itself without reload if I just wait a bit but it's definitely annoying. It only really seems to happen in combat with more than like 7 total people on the field. In multiple different playthroughs it has happened every single time on the goblin fight outside the grove which seems to me to indicate less of a one off character glitch and more something systemic.

I've been getting this a lot more commonly since the latest patch, to the point where it's happening at least once in almost every combat encounter. I even had it happen once on the very first encounter in the game on a fresh save.

Most of the time, the enemy NPC just idles around for 10 - 20 secs and then it skips its turn, which makes combat rather boring at the moment.

Skill issue.

I've resolved this by entirely uninstalling BG3 and fresh installing. Now I've played several hundred hours without issue.

Was this reinstall after the patch explicitly stated to fix the issue?
