Stats tied to Races has also always been moronic. We removed that from our Tabletopgame two decades ago.
Pretty much any other engine is an improvement over this and now we have proper turn-based combat, which should have been in the game since BG1.
And any real fan would probably be able to spell the name of the game they're pining for correctly.
I agree, they used the name for $$$, but it's still a damn good game.
Real time with pause is good. It worked well in Dragon age origins and other games like Pathfinder.
