How the **** Gale Works?

So how do you feed magic items to gale? all my greens and blues said that they can be absorbed by Gale, but no idea how to give them to him.

Right now, my save is stuck at the even when Gale ask for items to be donated. I give him all my blues and greens and nothing happen. I also have the Necronomicon, but is not available to be donated.... any idea?

Should see his dialog option at camp. The initial conversation about it is too early, so giving him items won’t do anything.

Calm down, it’s likely a bug. It worked in EA, so there has to be a code hiccup or smth. Gale did refuse my first attempt to give him a necklace, i think, but i decided not to press the issue & wait for it to be fixed before I break him beyond repair. File a bug report via the launcher & devs will take care of it. Just give them time.
That being said, I did get confused about this dialogue in full release. Specifically, how early on he brought up the whole magic item consumption topic. It took longer for him to tell me about it in EA. I wonder if there is a problem with his reputation progression that triggers the conversation too early and it screws smth up along the way.

Also, as for Book of the Damned or whatever, he only expresses interest in it initially. You’d have to unlock it then ask him again about it for him to consume it.

Hey - crossposting this from other threads, but here's the workaround that worked for me:

When the Arcane Hunger tag first comes up, DO NOT INTERACT WITH HIM when the (!) sign appears over his head. Instead, transfer an artifact to his inventory, select him as a character, right click on the artifact and Consume.

As long as you don't trigger that initial donate screen, it seems to be fine!

(You will also get the Approval and the dialogue from this, don't worry!)

Yeah, just talk to him in camp and you'll be able to give him an item to feed on.

a special trade screen will pop up when he actually needs one, if you're not seeing that then he's just close

When the arcane hunger icon showed up, I talked to him at the camp and had the option to "feed" him a magical item. Then a menu opened and I could choose from all my items.

I gave him items from the menu to feed him, he destroyed them, then compalined that I hadn't given him anything.

He asked me for an item while on the road. I gave him a necklace, he consumed it and was happy as heck about it. Actually, both times he mentioned consuming items was outside of the camp. Makes me wonder if some of the dialogues that used to take place only in camp will now be available while adventuring about?!
