Custom voice sets are a must

Every voice set sounds absolute generic, and a bloodthirsty necro sounding like your 08/15 male is a horrible immersion killer. What is even the point of having a highly customizable character editor when the whole thing gets shattered apart as soon as your character talks?

Does someone by chance know if its possible to mod voices, respectively was that a thing in Div2?

Agreed. There are only a few things in this game I've found to be missing or lackluster thus far, the lack of variety in player-character voices is definitely one of them. I want my half-orc Guardian to sound every bit the brutish thug I made him look like, not X-Men's Beast reading War and Peace.

I agree, the Voice Sets are absolutely immersion breaking.

I'm rolling a Dragonkin Warlock with a background in Deception and Intimidation. Yet the gruffest or slitheriest voice banks aren't there. Even the "gruffest" Voice Set sounds like a pious cheerful hopeful adventurer looking for the goodness in everyone.

Maybe I want my character to be a bastard and not sound and act like a cartoonish Fable character.

That being said we have more options for Penis' and Vagina's than faces or voices, glad we got those priorities straightened out.

As being an old school icewind dale, baldur's gate, AND Neverwinter Nights superfan, Custom voice sets AND custom portrait creation/creation tool/instructions should be a staple of BG 3. I loved some of the goofy sound banks I used to make for baldur's gate and icewind dale. It completely gave your character(s) a unique personality. Being able to do that with older gen gaming engines really make a newer game engine seem a bit off if there isn't at least some way to easily create your own sound/voice paks. Having newer tech should, by all rights, be twice as easy to do all of this. Not more difficult. Seems redundant, doesn't it? Doing this will make peoples play-throughs that much more enjoyable and make the price point even more worth it. Make it happen, Larian Studios. I also completely agree with ShadowReaper in that the sound banks just do not do the characters justice. What if I wanted a psychotic sounding chaotic evil mage, for instance...Crazy cackling would be awesome. Maybe even a favorite tv hero/villian voice set would be nice. AND be able to create it yourself and share them.

yeah voice acting is lame in this game. for a team that aims to be diverse they are not doing a good job. why is everyone british?

1000% yes, even if it is something as simple as putting audio files into a folder in the game directory (like custom portraits from the original games). Give us a general framework for what dialogue is required and let the community go nuts.

Agree on this one. There aren't even a lot of different barks, so I don't think it would be expensive.

Yeah, this was one of my major complaints, that there's basically no variation between the voices aside from 'very slightly different posh british accent'

Trying to find a voice for a noble background or a scoundrel proved not possible. I'd definitely like more options and for them to be labelled. Not voice 1, voice 2. As it is 1 is male and 2 is female and it goes on in that order for 3,4,5,6. Not very helpful. It should be gruff, friendly, brutish, snobbish etc

100% agree with OP, they all sound the same to me. Need to be able to record our own of upload custom packs.
