if the item or corpse is RED you can only loot it when unseen.

just kill the guard when they try to arrest you, they are level scared so its easy to win the fight

It’s weird seeing enemy goblin corpses in the wild that would be a criminal offense to loot. I doubt this is an intended mechanic.

My biggest problem is that it's hard to see the red highlight sometimes. The game should be more responsive and confirm that you actually want to steal before it lets you. It's not more immersive that your character takes an action you didn't intend for it to take because you misclick or have poor information on the screen.

ya there is something broken with this. even the shadow druids in the grove turned red after I killed them.

- I mean you can kill them no problem - Lord forbid you take one of their possessions.

Game needs a day / night cycle to add spice to Act 3. Togues and Vampires are not used well.

Just stealth and loot.

Here's how I handle these situations:

Guard: Looting is a crime!
Player: Not from a dead guy that you left there to rot...
Guard: It is! Jail or pay up!
Player: What about the third option?
Guard: Third option?
Player: *decapitates guard*
Guard: ...

Theres a bunch of items along the game that lets you cast blinding stuff like fog, darkness or just stealth through it!

I have a type of red-green color blindness and the red for stealing was fine for me personally.

I had a lot of issues with the UI indicators (e.g. if actions/spellpoints/etc. were used or unused) and some of the ground AoE indicators. though.

Quite sure it's a bug. Once had Wyll get butthurt and locked at the grove's entrance because I've tried to loot a dead goblin he killed while he was still at the gate's entrance. Didn't even knew monsters slain by an NPC sets ownership to them.

The red color indicates if it's a crime. Typically, it is rather logical tho. For example, if someone's friend gets killed in a fight, they will not apperciate you looting the corpse. Specific example: Surviving Fists wil not like you looting killed Fists. Same goes for Goblins. Or Harpers.

It's nature's law.

I had something similar the fireworks shop.

Some rando saw me from the ground floor. all the way to the third floor, on the other side of the building, through the walls... and ran up to me with guards in tow, because "blabla not yours". More bodies to the pile that was already there.

Then, another moron saw me through the walls... more guards... more dead. Repeat this bullocks 2 more times until I was able to loot in peace. Not that I complain at all the extra goodies, mind you.

Between guards and the moron citizens that rushed up to me, I think I shoved some 25 bodies into barrels.
It's just hilarious how they don't mind letting those corpses decompose along with the loot, but they will throw their life at it if you try to loot.
