UK Download speed

I am getting 24 Mbps which means I am 4 hrs through a 11 hr download. I have gone through lots of regions and I have found 26 Mbps in Singapore. How can that possibly be, I know it is still stupidly slow but how can it be faster. This is UK which must be a 3rd world country compared to how quick others have downloaded the game. Anyone found a better region in UK.

I downloaded at a constant 38.5 Mbps from the Manchester site yesterday, for a 7 hour download. That's as fast as my internet connection can handle, so was line limited rather than by the download site.

I live in the UK, I got 46 Mbps... it took about 5 and a half hrs to download...

UK here, took me 45 minutes to download. sounds like your internet provider is screwing you over if you're paying for more than what you're getting.

Took me around 4.5 hours to download on 5G Internet. It was something like 50 Mbps, but sometimes faster. Yes, that's the one where the data goes through the air instead of via cables. Can be an option if you're near a 5G tower.

Ok cheers, well I am with BT and Steam says it should be around 45 Mbps. Must just be a busy time with Schools shut and all.

Manchester was capped for me at around 2.4MBs so I swapped to London and it gave me the usual 60-110.

Servers were broken in general so we can expect some service disruption in the first two days maybe since everyone was downloading the same game at the same time, and it's a very large game in file size.

my speed should be about 130 Mbps. I never get that through Steam (I do through others), it hits more around 70 Mbps. Yesterday I got about 1/10 of that speed. Tried changing and everything, but nope.

I get 110 from steam using ethernet which is pretty close to my maximum, have you tried speed testing to confirm you're getting what you're paying for, and also tried changing servers? (Manchester/London)

Not at all. My UK provider is totally upfront about only providing a max 40 Mbps connection. Gigabit connections are not universally available in the UK yet, it depends on where you live.

To be fair the average speed in the UK back in 2022 was 86.5, so your providers max is less than half of the UK average. Still sounds like you're being screwed whether they're honest about it or not.

Must be outside of a city, maybe countryside? Hopefully you're not paying more than £10 for that kind of speed, even roaming mobile data would out perform that.
