That function is already there... you just need to access it.
Is it a skill or a setting? I couldn't find it. I'm curious now.
Controls setting. Your basically open up a loot window for everything around a certain radius.
No idea where this is. I do not find this
So this is again one thing implemented on controller but not on K/M... hmmm
Looting 1 crate at a time gets excruciatingly painful and tiring the longer you play. I'm at 180 hrs of gameplay, friggin 30% of that is looting 1 barrel at a time. Thats 54hrs of wasting my time when a simple area loot feature could have fixed it and let players enjoy the game more.
Checking boxes/crates/chests is part of the exploration and immersion.
Some of the objects are intentionally hidden in the scenario, for lore and storytelling reasons... You have to activelly look for stuff in the scenarios, so Larian doesn't expect you to pick every single item in a single playthrough. You're supposed to miss some of these, actually. This game is not just about min/maxing, it's about immersion and roleplaying. It's not Path of Exile or a looter shooter. I understand your anxiety to pick up everything you see, but I don't think it's the point of Baldur's Gate 3 or any other CRPG. This is not even a competitive game or MMORPG... In fact, you can pretty much finish the entire game without looting a single box.
Autoloot enabled by default would heavily affect the environmental storytelling and would make it difficult to point exactly where key items came from (which body? which chest? who dropped it?). This game relies too much on "hidden object" mechanics. The place where you pick up an item tells a story about it, the location, the characters, etc.
But, since you can already do autoloot in the controller, just make it an option at once... Just please don't leave it enabled by default.
