Here be spoilers.

I'm at the temple of shar working through Shadowhearts questline, I've got to the library, done all the trials and I'm currently trying to retrieve the spear, but I'm completely lost on what needs to go into the pedistal, I know it says tome but I've looked in every bookcase and put basically every book in there that I found.

Its a book from one of the bookshelves, something like night song or song of the night, you'll know its the right book when the first few words are "who can silence the song of the night" or something like that

Have you done the trials and picked up the blue orbs? I'm assuming you mean that bit

You need to grab a book from the shelves which are also trapped. It's the Loss of the Nightsinger it's on the northern wall shelves.

iirc the correct book was in the same room as the pedestal? Teachings of Loss: the nightsinger i think it was called?
