So they may end the relationship if you keep hitting on other characters.
Or they might go onto the prowl themselves and seduce some other party member.
It really does not resolve around the player that much, you CAN romance anyone you want but if you treat them bad or act against their romance convictions they can and will break up with you and hook up with someone else from the party.
Which can lock you out of that persons romance.
Halsin explicitly tells you he's polyamorous but I don't know if that is reflected if you try to romance another character at the same time.
Adding onto this, I think Karlach is open to poly, same wit Lae'zel up to a point at least. Pretty sure i recall them knowing your messing around and encouraging it.
