Why women look so ugly in this game?

Like, literally, with exception of Shadowheart which is moderate wife material, rest of the main characters and all the female NPCs are ugly as all Hell. What's the matter with that trend? Women CAN be independent and powerful without looking like stumps with eyes.

Yeah, modders will come which give you are your (unrealistic) women standards back. Without any unclean skin and perfect big boobs. Really, I just need to read here, and I know why many women have such much problem how they look. This has nothing to do with feminism. This game try give all player the option to create a character which can be realistic. The only sad thing here is that enough people think that the female NPCs seems to be ugly, but they are just fine/beautiful as they are.

My only thought here is that they all look too mature for you, unlike the typical child like images of the anime crap everyone seems to be into. It's borderline paedophilia, oftentimes genuine paedophilia and it ain't normal.

Outside of Half orcs you can create beutiful women (gnome men seem hard to make, but gnomes are just icky in general), this sounds like a skill issue. Now with characters only really having Shadowheart while all the men (save maybe Wyll) been handsome is problematic.

I get the feeling a lot of people in this thread forget that you can play as the companions, and that the female options are designed for player self-insert. Female players are going to play a character they can identify with comfortably while embarking on a heroic fantasy quest. It's not designed this way just to spite horny players. Hell the game even lets you view your character fully nude, and that's not enough for the horndogs, which is alarming.

In "shape" (physical faces/hairs/lack of sculpting) yes. But color wise there's many, the right skin color, the right amount of freckles, the right scar (or lack of), the right eye/hair color can make your half-orc manly woman into the "savage half-orc" woman stereotype. If that's what you like, you can also make them look outlandish for your half-orcs bards with a small tint on the hair and so on.

You can still do a lot with it and beuty (or atleast several standards of beuty) are available even for half orcs. Gnomes are a lost cause for males tho, seems imposible.

Please stop trying to make it look like women are the only gender, that has to deal with unrealistic expectations. Try to date woman as a broke man, reciding hair and 30+ BMI - good luck.

In fact, women are way more demanding regarding their standards and it's even been scientifically proven already.

I don't have any intention to offend any older D&D fans, but BG3 is basically a fairy tale. There is absolutely nothing wrong with unrealistic beauty in fantasy. In fact, why do people have to deal with ugliness in a high fantasy story for no reason? And plz don't try to tell me, that beauty is "subjective". If you ask someone whether he prefers elven of dwarven women, I am pretty sure, that the overwhelming majority of straight men will be clear on the answer...

Its a game with talking squids, its meant to be unrealistic. The woman are plain ugly, games like this should have beautifull barbarian princesses, sexy priestesses and handsome knights.

Its a game with talking squids, its meant to be unrealistic. The woman are plain ugly, games like this should have beautifull barbarian princesses, sexy priestesses and handsome knights.
