Report a translation problem
I got it. When you kill the character that's over-encumbered, give it a good minute or 2. Make sure they're totally dead and you'll see the encumbered icon go away. Then revive them. If you revive them too quickly, it doesn't fix the issue.
I can only wonder why that sounds like some serious suicidal stuff. I hope Larian fixes that issue soon.
This is exactly what I did, and it worked immediately. Must be some event bound to certain conditions not being triggered in a very specific circumstance.
Long story short, just use your camp travellers chest to load up on any stuff you've been storing, over encumber yourself even more, and in your inventory, sort by "Latest" and click all on the latest first item top left, and shift + click on the last item you want, and "Send to Camp".
It should recalculate the weight and remove the debuff.
