Auntie Ethel's Hair still wont work?

hi everyone. just defeated the hag and got the hair as reward. but it still wont give me the extra point in my stat (i have 17 strength and want to boost it to 18).

i tried other stats (in case you cant boost it to 18 with the hair) but also wont work.

EDIT: i tried giving up the girl (so without using skill checks, still wont change). am i missing something? i even get the window where i can choose which stat i want to increase.


is there a work around?

Can not boost my Charisma from 19 to 20

UPD: you need to eat the hair from your inventory after selecting windows, it works :)
