mate, SSD is REQUIRED, not just recommended. Don't listen to all them trolls that pretend to be tech-savvy and say that you'll have no problems if you install on HHD. SSD is Required even with the minimum requirements of the game. We had all these trolls here, the previous days, trying to convince everyone against the official Steam requirements. And now, we are trying to help people play their game...What a world, man...
I installed in on my SSD because i saw that it was a requirement in the full version, so i didn't feel like playing with fire. xD
EDIT: i recall during early access playing on a HDD or SSD had some pretty noticeable difference, especially during cutscenes, but the biggest differences for me is when i would switch between DirectX api mode and Vulkan api mode.
During EA for me, DX11 had the more stable frame rates, but more bugs during cutscenes, while Vulkan was less stable with the frame rates, but far far less bugs.
This sort of thing with the api modes 'might' carry over for some people? I mean this may be full release, but there are still going to be bugs that crop up that will need to be patched as time goes on.
From what I gather, maybe running on Directx 11 is better for nVIDIA users. In any case, i am reading mixed opinions about the Vulcan, you know?
