So, how in the world is this game NOT marked as an Adult only game?

I'm not here to troll or say the game is bad or whatever. i don't even own the game. But what i want to know is how this game isn't marked as an Adult Only game, considering all of the nudity. Specifically the part where there's visible genitalia.

Now. I am not against any of that being in a game, it is just confusing to me, when i know a few games that don't even have any sexual themes are marked on steam as Adult only, but this isn't.

Probably because it needs to sell physical copies to have a ESRB rating, and it's only a digital game?

ESRP ratings is only when you sell the game at retail.

Nudity/sex with a story attached to it is not adult only, it's only adult only if it's something like a hentai eroge with no story/plot/significance attached to it only meant to be adult content for the sake of adult content

ESRP ratings is only when you sell the game at retail.

ESRB rating is M, this is typical for story-driven AAA games. It is not smut/eroge/sexual just for the sake of being sexual, and therefore it doesn't need the AO rating.

The game throws up a disclaimer when you enter character creation warning the user of the graphic content, and there's several in-built options if you're looking for that Early Bioware Never-Nude feel...

Tick a few boxes and you're back in PG-13 land.

It is marked as mature and specifically states containing nudity.

I don't get why we insist nudity is the end of the world, although every one of us has the same parts and it's not good for mental health to insist people's natural bodies are a crime. At the same time, graphic violence, torture, murder, etc are all deemed perfectly fine.

I'm not asking or referring to the ESRB/Pegi ratings. i mean the Steam storefront marking games as adult only on their end.

It has to be prolonged scenes of intense violence and graphic sexual content and nudity.

This game doesn't come close to that.

Baldur's Gate III is the equivalent of an Evil Dead film at worst. (ESRB 17+)

And The Rings of Power at best. (TV-14)
