here is that article on reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/macgaming/comments/15he54w/baldurs_gate_3_crashing_with_crossover/?rdt=63629
Note that using Run Command is DIFFERENT than doing Browse Local Files from inside Steam and finding same file and launching it (which does not work for me).
However for me the game keeps crashing during one of the opening fights in act iii. Trying to explore CrossOver but honestly having a lot of trouble with that too.
EDIT: After upgrading Mac OS to Ventura, I am able to login to steam, getting past the bug described here (https://www.reddit.com/r/macgaming/comments/lv54je/steam_displaying_black_screen_running_trough/). Installing now
EDIT: Got Baldur's Gate running using PwntByUkrainian running. though my steam saves aren't syncing...mmmm
EDIT: okay, so in order to get cloud files to sync, you need to run via steam. LariLauncher is not working for me in CrossOver, so just reconfigure steam to run dx11.exe directly as described here https://reddit.com/r/BaldursGate3/s/uuN817ujg8
Overall, CrossOver runs way better than Parallels. Parallels is much easier to setup, but you'd need a license to get more RAM and resources and even then it's extremely sluggish and prone to crashing. CrossOver isn't perfect but it's a way better experience.
I went with Parallels as a stopgap measure until Mac release next week, because they have a 30 day no questions asked refund. That being said, I'm strongly considering going with Crossover, as the technical issues are really impacting my gaming experience.
